Hey everyone, so last week I was playing around with a couple sculpties... baked out their textures, applied them in world... o_O and they came out with a weird viewing error, as if the image was transparent? Is this happening to anyone else? I just baked out another texture for an entirely different sculpt and it's completely opaque anyone know what's happening? I haven't changed my methods any from before when the images came out opaque, like they should. Is this a "temp image" error for sculpt maps or images?

thanks much~~

ehhh, nvm. Turns out instead of just testing a bake, I gotta manually adjust the alpha in PS before uploading D: used to just be opaque on upload -digs through her settings-

What software are you using to do your baking? If it's Maya, do the following:

1. Open your Render Settings, click on the Common tab, and uncheck Alpha Channel (Mask) in the Image File Output section.

2. Click on the tab for whatever renderer you're using, and in necessary, uncheck alpha channel rendering there too. Specific instructions will vary, from renderer to renderer. If you're using Maya software or Mental Ray, then you won't need to do anything. Step 1 will be it. If you're using Turtle, go to Texture Bake -> Bake Options, and uncheck Bake Alpha. If you're using something else, look up "alpha" or "transparency" in the renderer's help file or manual, to learn how to disable alpha channel rendering.

Alternatively, you could just bake to BMP format, so transparency won't even be applicable in the first place.

If you're using something other than Maya, there's got to be a similar setting somewhere.
