Scaling Textures Question

I'm trying to create an art canvas of a single image onto 3 flat face prims. I'd rather not cut the image into 3rds to plane onto each prim, but rather I'd like to scale the prim down smaller than the texture, does that make sense?

When I choose not to scale texture, it still sizes it as I'm sizing the prim. Any tips? Or am I missing something?

thanks!

What you're doing should be working, but texture stretching has historically been a bit finicky when SL is acting weird. You might try doing it the other way around: size your prims how you want them beforehand, then scale the texture to fit by fiddling with the texture sliders. I'm thinking a bit fuzzy over my morning coffee, but perhaps a texture scale of 0.3333 on one axis for all the prims, then an offset of 0.0000, then 0.3333, then 0.6666 respectively?
