Hey all, I've have been having a heck of a time completing thigh highs. I had no trouble the first time I made them. What I did originally was use a basic square 512x512 texture and then uploaded and created new socks. I did the same again and for some strange reason the top hem or design carried onto the heal of my AV. Then I used the templates I have and applied the textures and designs to lower body and foot, and uploaded and made pants and socks and both times it was screwy, can someone please shed light on what I'm missing cause I feel stupid suddenly and can't figure it out. AAAAAAHHHHH!!!

not sure, but the only possible solution is to check what percentage your 512x512 was at if it was at 75% it may be the reason but not sure about them thigh highs hehe

Hi Blue :) Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. I am not sure I understand what you are doing? It sounds to me, you uploaded a square texture, without using the pants template as a guide and/or alpha channel, for your stockings. If this is correct, you will see the problem you described.

If you look at the pants template, you will see the section for the foot in the top right corner. Any texture that covers the thighs and continues over to the edge, might cross the heel and give you the image that you described. You will need to remove the hem line where it crosses the heel and replace it with stocking material.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi Jen and same to you, Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays. I used the pants template yes, I covered the legs from thighs down then used hte same type texture to cover the foot. I created a new layer for the say the hem line for the upper thighs but nothing carried over to the heel. Then when I uploaded the finished product, I created new pants (hopefully the correct way) but nothing showed on her foot when I did that. I'm really confused here. I'm using Chips template too. should I have created a different outfit in appearance? Also, I then tried to create a texture without using a template and just uploaded that and used it to create socks in appearance and that is when it showed the "hem line" on the heel. If I'm confusing you let me know. I can always show you what I mean by attaching what I did. Let me know. Thank you so much.

Hi Blue!

If you are using Pants, then nothing is going to show on the foot. Pants don't cover the foot.

Try using Shoes or Socks for thigh high (Boots? Stockings? Whatever you are making.) Use Shoes if you want to change the shape of the foot, and Socks if you don't.

Both of them only come to a certain point on the body, though. The Lindens haven't see fit to give us a garment that uses the entire Lower Body, so things like tights and pantyhose always have to have two parts; normally Socks and Underpants, to go from the bottom of the foot to the waist.

Different designers break them at different points, and it's much tricker if they are semi-transparent (because any overlap is visible,) but that's what we have to work with, so we manage. :D

Hope this helps!

I think the trick is to make socks, if you make pants then they wont have feet, it's possible that making long shoes could work but I'm not sure that shoes go as high as the thigh, socks do.

Hope this helps

Thanks Abigail and Robin!!! I was doing things right then. I guess I just can't do a dark hem line, bummer. Oh well maybe in the future, hahahaha.
