Hello all,
I've been convinced by some friends to start designing men hair and I must say I'm quite happy how the first few turned out ... but to have them looking "finished" I need to figure out frayed hair texture making ... and I can't seem to find any tutorial about that ... anybody got an idea ?

I wondered quite a bit about this when I tried making hair for a time; searched the forums, possibly even asked, but never really got an answer. The best way I found to make a 'frayed' edge was to use a hair-style brush on the alpha channel (see the Nagel series, I think - either Google or search here) along the edges, removing visibility in a 'hairy' way If that makes the slightest sense... It did leave me with quite a lot of grey areas which needed to be blocked in with a solid brush, but wasn't too bad on the edges. I'm sure there might be a better (and easier) solution and I hope someone will suggest it for you. I've given up on that whole mission but I'd be interested to know still!
