Hi everyone! I've been working on a tutorial to teach the use of the Pen tool in Photoshop, but I'm not sure how clear it is. There will be a video portion, and then five or six worksheets that guide the user through the kinds of points (smooth, corner, and straight,) using curves with guides. Ummm.. like this. I plan to have the worksheets as layered .psd files, so the user can hide the guides and just practice with the curves. At the moment, though, I'd really appreciate it if some of you could take the time to just run through a .jpg of three of the files, to see if it's possible to follow them. If you could, I'd like both people who are very familiar with the Pen, and people who have always been flustered by it to try. The former can let me know if I've made some sort of error, but the latter will be the most valuable to tell if it's doable. And those who are in-between, too, of course. Anyone who wants to, please give them a whirl. The files are pretty large, so I'm just posting links to them. Exercise Sheet 1 - Smooth Points Exercise Sheet 2 - Corner Points Exercise Sheet 3 - Mixed Curve and Straight Segments Thanks! edited to insert image

I tried this out with my Wacom pen tablet and it went pretty smoothly. One thing I would like to point out in the pathing process... For example #1 when dragging the path nodes straight out it might be noteworthy to mention the Shift key for constraining to straight-lines and 45-degree angles. Good job, Robin!

Thanks, Kurshie, I'll do that! (And thanks for taking the time to go through them, too.)

I hardly every use the pen tool, for all sorts of reasons. Laziness not to be excluded from the list!
I found these tutorials easy to follow and ended up with something not unlike the pictures.
Congrats.
