i have photoshop 7
i am trying to learn all about it on my own
i can crop pics and put writing on them and play with filters

i recently found a webpage talking about the brushes in ps and ive been trying to play with it when i follow their instructions:

This brilliant postcard is having a fairy night look with shining stars. We have used in here the combination of Starburst Large and Star Large effect, which are both available in Assorted Brushes. Go to Assorted Brushes/Starburst Large and Assorted Brushes/Star Large.

i get the rose brush and can make a rose but its really pale and if i click on it again it changes to another color

is there any way to control the color it is and keep it the samecolor at all times?

The thing that allows this to happen is in the "Brush Presets' menu. I cant' remember exactly where it is on PS 7 ( been a while since I used it), But I believe its a palette you can bring up under the window menu. If not, search the help file for brush presets. In the brush presets, you can control the "hue Jitter" I think its called, which is what makes it change colors.

If you want to explore the _REAL_ power of photoshop brushes, I'd suggest hunting down and installing some of the vast array of freebee brushes out there. Extraordinarily helpful for things like clothing and skins. Deviantart.com has a huge assortment. You can also search google for 'free photoshop brushes', and you'll find a ton. To install new downloaded brushes, take the .abr file you download and drop it into the Adobe Photoshop --> Presets ---> Brushes folder in the applications/programs folder.
