I am trying to paint my face white. I am using the face template in photoshop. I paint the entire surface white and load it into SL. I try to apply it as a face tattoo. It only makes the very front of my face white and not the whole thing I've seen it done around SL How can I make my entire face white? (Fron my chine to my forehead and back to my ears? I appreciate any help

Hi, I think i know what the problem is but if it doesnt work, then I am very sorry.... While in SL , before you aprove the loading of your choasen file there will be a display of what your loading and a pop-up menu to choose what you would want it to be when finished load. Choose: FEMALE HEAD and when you are wearing your default skin , just load the white skin from textures in to your head skin Keep in mind that no matter what you make it , it will always seems just as a texture (in texture file) but will have different properties dependign on what youve set it to, so it will properly lay over head butn not always body or legs, you would have to load another just for that. Hope thats it ! lol

Change your alpha layer in the template to all black. The default setting is just the face, and it sounds like you want the entire head. Keep in mind though that you'll also overwrite all facial hair, including eyebrows, if you do a full head tattoo overlay.

Jonahs, you are getting the face and only the face because there's an Alpha channel in the Face template you get from the Lindens. Look at the Channels palette, and you'll see it. Delete it to change the color of your whole head, including the bottom of your neck. Make your own alpha, with the neck black, to leave your neck the color it is. if you want your whole head white, there's a much easier way. In Appearance, go to Skin, click on the Head Tattoo thumbnail, and choose Blank from the texture picker. Your whole head will turn white. I highly recommend that you do this with a New skin, though, since you'll lose whatever your face was. To do that, Right Click on the Body Parts folder, and choose "New Body Parts" > "New Skin" from the menu. Then double click on the New Skin to wear it. Make sure you know where your old skin is stored, too, so that you can put it back on when you are tired of the whiteface look. Oliva, the Preview window when you download is just a preview. It lets you see the image you are thinking of downloading in several different ways, but that's all it does. To make something a skin, all you need to do is choose it from the thumbnail. You can put any texture in your whole texture folder on your face, really. What they will look like is entirely dependant on what you are doing.
