Sorry if this is the wrong forum section, but this is the closest I could find to "avatar customization"...I'm hoping some of you might have a suggestion or answer, or can tell me which forum I need to go to to post this.
I have a male av that's been in the game about two years. I've noticed recently that skin textures are distorting on the front pelvis area. On closer inspection I've noticed there are symmetrical ridges that jut out starting from the top upper groin down diagonally toward the fork of my legs. This is what's making my skin distort strangely.
I've tried all the sliders I can think of, I've changed shapes, I've bought a new shape and tried that, and these ridges remain. Someone suggested it might have happened as a result of clothing or underwear that temporarily altered the pelvic structure and then didn't go away when I took them off.
Is there anyway I can completely reset the avatar shape, or is there something I'm missing that might help this?

Two things occur to me: Are your video drivers up-to-date? Have you tried toggling the Avatar Vertex feature in Preferences >> Graphics Detail? Out of date drivers, or sometimes, updated drivers for vid cards can cause this. And sometimes, the Avatar Vertex feature (or its absence) can cause this kind of thing.
Oh, and ummmmm.... just what shape are these things on your groin?

I was recently thinking my boobs have gotten blockier with age So I investigated various preference settings and avatar slider settings and couldn't solve the problem, and then I looked at old photos. They've always been blocky. I've just gotten pickier.

This may or may not be related but twice now I've had bizarre av bugs that from my point of view is something wrong w/SL. Once my eyebrow/forehead area was stretched vertically giving my eyebrows a very slanted "vulcan" look as well as my eyeshadow extending up onto the brow ridge. It didn't matter if I changed skins or shapes, it was consistent. I even relogged and it continued. Then the next day, I changed skins and shapes as I did the day before and poof, it was fixed. This past week I had a similar issue but this time with the texture on my eyes. This time though I could change the eye texture and it would fix (i.e. wear a different set of eyes).
I don't know if this is related or not but it sounded like it could be so here it is.
