Quick questions.

Is it possible to do a full body tattoo, or series of tattoos across a full body?

Is it possible to color your body 0,0,0 black?

Is it possible to change the color of your lips/tongue?

I have a full black body I use for an avatar, so I know it's possible.

Only thing is with the full body tatoo: the arms mirror themselves in a wierd way.

I think the right arm will appear as you paint it on the UV map, but it makes a mirror image on the left arm. The under arm is the same way, but is a seperate piece on the UV map.

Davo, I note that the 'full body' doesn't include the head. Is there a way to do the same to a head?

IIRC, face/head tattoo will do the trick.

Head, upper body, and lower body are all 512x512 textures that use the (surprise) head, upper body, and lower body templates. Tattoos are made exactly like making clothing, only with more areas of transparency usually.

While you get a right leg and a left leg in the lower body tattoo, you unfortunately only get one arm. That's why mirroring occurs: the single arm art is mirrored onto the other arm.

If you download the official head template it will have an example showing the areas for lips, tongue, and teeth. Also, and I can't tell you the specific directory at the moment, there's a folder in your SL install directory that has many useful graphics along these lines including helpful alpha channels.

While we're on the subject, hair and eyes are also 512x512 textures. One caveat for eyes: you have to make them rotated 90º counter-clockwise for them to look correct on your body. I don't know why, you just do.

So if your goal is a totally black avatar it's absolutely possible. Have fun sneaking around at night.

'cept I suck at art. And Photoshop. (Well, it IS Photoshop 5 or something like that.)

In responce Mole yeah you can do from head to toe just explore your avatar in appearance mode and look for skin and I am sure you will find the places where all the textures go.

if you so desire, you can contact me about what you're looking for and i can 'try' to make it for you.. i'm pretty familiar with Photoshop (been using it for several years and currently own Photoshop CS).

also, as far as 'mouth stuff' goes.. absolutely. anything other than the tongue is hard to see though. i changed the color of my gums and my tongue. i also have a tattoo on my tongue. (is this a historical first?) ..i tried changing my teeth.. it works, but it's limited.. although i've had an idea about that as well.
