Hey! I'm doing more building, and I'm trying to construct something using cones, however what I want to do is apply a texture which is opaque at the point of the tip, and has more and more transparency towards the base, with the base itself being completely transparent. However, I see no obvious way to do this, as texturing a cone seems to require that the base have a texture too, and hollowing out the middle with a circular shape results in two cones and still a small amount of base which ends up textured (ie the inner cone HAS to be smaller than the outer, I can't hollow out the entire thing). I've seen it done for various things, but they're all proprietary of course so I can't look and see how it was achieved Any pointers?

To do the gradient from opaque to transparent, just put a black to whit gradient on the alpha channel of the texture. To get rid of the base of the cone, just put a fully transparent texture on the base. To texture just the base, click on the "Select Texture" button on the editor dialog window. Then click on the base of the cone and assign it a texture. The rest of the cone will remain unaffected as long as the base is the only side selected.
