Ive heard tell tell roumers that there was a way to bake textrues using poser so you can see what the clothing is going to look like befor you update it. however all my surching on the forums have turnd up no such result. if anyone know where i can find this suposed plug-in for poser 5 please let me know

There's no plugin necessary. Go to the downloads section of this site and grab the avatar models. Follow the included instructions to install them into Poser as characters. Then you can apply clothing textures to them to see how they look without uploading them to SL.
Just keep in mind, it's not a perfect solution. Things will still look different in SL than they look in Poser due to slider variances. All you'll be able to see in Poser are the default avatars, no customizarion. It can be very useful for certain things like checking seam alignment, but it's not going to give you an exact picture of how the clothing looks on your specific avatar.
