Question about custom T-Shirts

I have a customer asking if I can make a custom T-Shirt for him that is Copy/Mod/Resell enabled. I have never made a custom Shirt before for anyone and I imagine selling something that is fully copyable and modifyable would be more than your typical T-Shirt in price.

I was just wondering if there is a going rate or if anyone has a tip on how much I should charge.

Set your rate at what you think your work is worth (how much $ you work for in RL multiplied by the going L$ US$ exchange rate). Charge them for your time in Linden$. If they intend to sell the shirt in SL, then negotiate resale rights based on a percentage of what you think the total sales will be. That will be the tricky part becuase you have no idea how popular your shirt might be Remember, you are essentially selling them the original work with full rights to it (Mod, Copy, Transfer) unless you draw up a separate contract that you both are legally obligated to honor. One simple example might be that they can not resell the t-shirt, but can give it away for free, and that you will not resell the original either. That limits the sale to one single $ transaction between you and the customer. It is then in the best interest of the customer to retain the uniqueness and rarity of your original creation. Any violation of the contract can be dealt with through the DMCA.

If he's the first owner and wants full rights, he'd essentially be buying a license to your work. If you do the full design, charge through the nose. If it's his design, be a bit nicer about it.

We're talking IP rights here, a hot topic in the developed world.

It would actually be my design. He gave me the fonts to use and that's it and told me to come up with something. Thank you for the info on exchange rates.
