Hi there, if this is posted else where I appologize, I did look but didn't notice anything. I see alot of sculptie prim creators are able to make the texture into a totally clear texture, yet it still works as a normal sculptie map would, and I love this idea.
My question here would be, is there a way to do that with normal textures that you would use on prims? Other then the make the item no mod, is there a way to make the texture 'invisable' on the texture display yet still show up on the prim as the texture should? Or basically a way to hide the texture on an item that needs modify rights?
Thanks all apprecite the help! Marijane

No, there isn't. I don't see why it would be necessary, however. If you are worried about someone ripping off your texture, that approach won't make much difference. A prim's texture is right out there for everyone to see.

Can't be done.
A sculpt map texture can be hidden by making it 100% alpha. Sculpts don't care about the alpha value of the texture used to make the sculpt map, so that works for protecting sculpt maps.
But textures applied to prims? If you can see it, then there are ways to steal it, unfortunately. The best you can do is to use watermarks so you can prove after the fact that that particular texture is an illegal copy of your work.
Search the Texture Tips forum for "Strong Watermark" for info on that method.
