Hi,
Not sure if this should be in testures or animations. I'm looking for a tutorial on creating an animated texture.
TIA!

Yes this is the right place for question on animations for prims. The animation thread is for animating avatars which is an entirely different process.
Tutorial: http://www.kan-ed.org/second-life/using-LSL.html#texture Once you have looked at the tutorial above you might also want to look at http://www.cheesefactory.us/lslwm/llSetTextureAnim.htm for more specifics on the scripting. Have fun! |

Hi Sue!
What kind of animation did you want to do? Do you want a texture to slide across a prim in some fashion? If so, then you can pick up free scripts to do that from my Texture Tutorial in Benten. (Check my picks for the landmark; I'm not at the computer that has all that info right now. )You don't need to understand scripting at all to use them. At the most, you'll want to change a couple of numbers, which are clearly marked in the scripts. Or did you want to do a multiple frame animation? (Different pictures, shown one after the other, like an animated .gif on the web?) If that's the case, you'll need to set them up on a grid, and use a slightly different script. If you already have the .gif, you can use FlipperPA Peregrine's nifty conversion tool, which you'll find here. If you want more info about making the grid, etc., you can find it in this thread. Hope this helps! _____________________
