..with interviews from Simone Design's Simone Stern, Cory Ondrejka, Judge Richard A. Posner, Indiana University law professor Joshua Fairfield, congressional staffer , and Microsoft's Bobby Figueroa. Discussion of RL tax policy. Differences in legal interpretation of ownership in Virtual worlds among different countries. Nice summary of the current issues on the table. Not a bad read. 2 months late...but not a bad read. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/12/25/AR2006122500635.html

I thought it was a good article, except that they didn't mention Linden Lab's support of the libsl project, which seemed like an important element of the controversy.

Thats the media's job.... to highlight the pro OR the con in order to give the story an edge, if they made everybody happy, then their would be no story to sell Good reading though.

Also, they made it sound like the real money you make in SL isn't taxable currently. If you draw money out of the game, it's certainly taxable.
I figure with as much as I "invest" in SL, I'll never have a taxable remainder.

From: Cadroe Murphy I thought it was a good article, except that they didn't mention Linden Lab's support of the libsl project, which seemed like an important element of the controversy. I disagree. I think whether LL supports libsl and to what extent they support it is completely unimportant and overblown in general, and especially insignificant to the article. As with most articles of that kind, it was kind of almost interesting, but too shallow to be much of a good read. Since that is the norm, I give a couple of marks for being about a subject that is interesting to me, even if the article was not.
