I just stumbled across this great little Web tutorial for LCD monitors, and thought I should pass it along. This is really a must-read for anyone using an LCD screen of any type, from desktop flat panels to laptops.

If your screen wasn't set up properly to begin with, you'll be amazed at how much more you can see when it is. The only downside is you'll now be on the other side of the fence from a larger portion of the world. It can be pretty frustrating to spend hours tweaking the textures on a build so that the shading is just so, only to find out that half the people looking at it can't see any of the subtlety. But that of course does not mean you should relegate yourself to be as blind as the rest of the bats in the cave. Obviously, you want to be the best artist you can be, regardless of how much of your audience can tell the difference.

What a fantastic find!!! Just last week I was looking for a way to calibrate the new LCD I got and couldn't really get a satisfactory result. I tried using the guide found here: http://www.normankoren.com/makingfineprints1A.html , but it's a little confusing and leans too much toward the photo crowd.

As a lifetime CRT user switching to LCD, I find the differences between the two types of monitors to be quite frustrating. But now with this new guide, my eyes are saved!

Thank you so much, Chosen!!! :)
