How to get Pants look like Leather

I've been trying to make leather pants and shirt to match! How do you get the color look like leather! With PSP 10

I guess the first question would be which kind of leather? It comes in a wide variety of textures -- suede, high gloss, rough, smooth. Do you mean like a black leather 'Matrix-y' motorcycle set, or Davy Boone buckskins, etc?

What I usually do when I'm trying to create a new texture is to find some pictures of what I'm looking to do for reference. You can use an eyedropper tool (picks up color and lets you paint with it) to borrow shades for shadows or highlights, and it can look really natural. Or you can copy part of the picture and past it directly onto the template, but it honestly doesn't look as good as doing it the long way.

I never thought ofdoing it that way. Going to have to try it that way. Thank you. I would like to do all kinds of leather.
