I have been doing my own skins for over a month now. I am not a photoshop newbie and have had some success with the ones I carefully painted using many of the resources I ferreted out here... thanks to everyone.
At the first of August I started making modifyable skins. What was once a relatively pain free process of seleting from column a b c etc... I am ready to tear my freeking hair out or detatch it... whatever.
What has me in a tixxy is that the legs portion of my semi transparent skins show a distinct line and the carefully worked out noise-blur I put on my base skin (it is exactly the same on all three pieces) ends up looking flat and there is a distinct line at the waist even though I have lined them up and carefully blended... buffed.. etc.
Another pain is that the belly button on the new skin is NOT where it is supposed to be on the template. For hours I thought I had a belly button ring that had dispeared into myself until I freaking moved my carefully rendered belly button down and to the left. I suppose I could mask it with a non transparent alpha but I am trying to sort out why things are coming in different.
So... if any of you more experienced skin designers have any wisdom to share with me... I will be eternally grateful.
