Hello, I am a builder in sl, and I am looking for the best places to get the most detailed textures, such as baked, lighting and shadowed home building textures. I have got some from Textures R Us, but can't seem to find anything like what im looking for.
Is there any other place that has a wide range of choices of textures like these?

I have seen some impressive textures of walls with light shadows below sconces at TRU.
No clue yet how they do that personally. Unfortunately only bad thing I can say about TRU is they have so many textures there is so much it's bit hard to find all of the good stuff they have there but re-reading your question you already know that.
Most of good places are like that but I have noticed in my searches if you go to enough places you start to see the same textures or Googled borrowed textures.
Best I think truthfully are the one's one figures out how to make themselves.

You'll have more luck posting this question in the Products Wanted forum. This forum is for finding out how to make textures, not buy them.

Textures After Dark also has a pretty fantastic collection of building textures. Nice thin ghtere they are sold as singles so you dont have to spend 600L on a collection to get 1 texture. ;)

My current favourite texture store is Antiquity Building Supply. It's in Antiquity Township North.

Single textures, or big packages at a reasonable price.

I assume if I buy a full-perm texture from a store in SL, I'm permitted to use it in the things I build and sell. Right? I don't always see an explicit "license" when I shop at such places, though presumably the full-perms imply a license to use them in works I sell.

I had a ton of fun with the Bay City content pack this weekend. I went straight there when I noticed it on the blog. The objects are silly, but the textures are really nice. Almost my entire basement is Bay City textures. (^_^)y

There's very little market for textures you can't use in objects you're going to sell. Most places have some sort of "license", and if they don't, I assume I'm free to use it and sell what I make. But unless it's a freebie, or the license says I can pass it on, I assume I'm not permitted to distribute it to others.

If you want to get the perfect texture thats spot on for your build, you're usually going to have to make it yourself.

I came across this book last year -

http://www.amazon.co.uk/3D-Game-Textures-Professional-Photoshop/dp/0240807685

I would seriously say its the best book on texturing i've come across, its easy to follow even for a beginner (just keep following the steps even when your image looks totally different to the picture of the final one, it gets there in the end dont worry)

Or if you're a power user - I've been using photoshop for over 10 years for example - I have still found it a great reference resource to have close to hand when I'm working.

Its such a great resource! I'd really reccomend it. And then you'll be able to make textures, for yourself and your friends! ^_^

Textures R Us is amazing. Origin Textures is really small, but also amazing. They mostly do builds but sell their custom textures as well. But they have a tiny shop at the moment for textures.

You may also want to step off the grid as well. Turbosquid.com is great and texturama as well, they have sites. Texturama has a one dollar sale a while ago. They are easy to mod with light F/X in photoshop. But try searching for liscenced video game textures online. You will fine so many that you saw in SL, but also a tonne you have never seen at all. http://www.renderosity.com/ is also a good resource as well

My question is somewhat related to the opening post, so I won't create a new one.

I've seen some great textures that I'd like to buy. Is there a way to determine who created the texture? Of course, an auto-stamp feature would only tell you who up-loaded it. But is there a field for textures as there is for objects that allow you to name and describe a texture, so that those of us who respect creator's rights can track down the creator to buy it from them?
