Do you mean matching details that have to cross over the waist seam between the upper and lower body templates? Or by layers do you mean matching details between different layers in Photoshop?

Hi Chip,
What i want to do....wait i'll use a for instance...i want to do a tattoo that goes down the back and down the back of the legs...but i know that the bottom of the templates is different in size so i was wondering does this actually matter in lining up a split....say the tattoo comes down the back and goes down one leg how do you go about matching the "seams" of the joining tattoo?
Sorry i hope that makes sense :-/

That's what all the little grid lines are for on the templates. Let's say you have a part of your tatt that crosses over the waist seam, going from the lower back down onto the buttocks. You want the see where exactly on the grid each part hits the seam. If the part that crosses over the seam goes from the 10th square of the grid, counting over from the left side seam, to the 23rd square, then that's the same squares the two sides need to hit on the lower body template. That will generally get you within a couple of pixels.

If you use DeepPaint or 3D body paint you could accomplish what you want very easily - but that would requre quite a bit of money to do so.
I know that Photoshop CS3 has the 3D previewer so if you get that at least it won't be quite as odd as jumping from one file to another.

I don't know if it is a difficult way but i just use the clothes previewer of Johan durant wich is a sticky on the start of the textureforum. It will take some time to get into the use of it but at the end it works great. my upper and lower layers fit *AE*
