I'm not sure if I'm noticing this because of recent SL changes or because I have a new monitor but clothing that I have made that has a cut "across the bias" or basically at an angle, show those edges as slightly jagged in game on my avie. Is there a solution for this? I'm already using a similar colored background under the main layer in ps to avoid the white lines.
Everytime I get a new computer I notice something about my clothes that I dont like but looked ok before lol.

What was your old monitor and what's your new one? Did you move from a CRT to an LCD? Different resolution? Are you using antialiasing on your video card?

Both are LCD and I have no idea about anti-aliasing on my video card. How do I do that?

Antialiasing is something you enable in the options for your videocard's driver. You new monitor is probably just sharper than your old one and the higher quality a monitor is, the more unforgiving it will be because it won't mask as many flaws. Without knowing exactly what your setup was before compared to what it is now I can't really offer any other suggestions.

From: Chip Midnight the higher quality a monitor is, the more unforgiving it will be because it won't mask as many flaws. Amen to that. I recently switched from a 4 yr. old pair of Samsung 19" flat panels to a single 24" Eizo (single because I can't afford another $1349 for the second one yet). Now that I can see exactly what I've been missing, it's really hard to believe just how much I couldn't see before. It's pretty incredible. Originally I had thought I'd be able to keep using the Samsungs as secondary monitors until I could scrape the money together for a second Eizo, but that's just not gonna work. When I plug in a Samsung next to the Eizo, the Samsung just makes me want to puke. I never would have imagined the difference would be that dramatic, but it really is. And then there's the problem of realizing that just as I couldn't see a lot of things before, neither can probably a lot of SL users. It's a little frustrating to think of all the subtlety I can now put into my textures that most people won't be able to see. Oh well. I can't let that be a reason to go back. Anyway, Jana, I think Chip's probably right that your new monitor is just showing you things that you couldn't see before. Chances are the new one has a higher contrast ratio than the old one. Assuming that's the case, you should now be able to see more subtle differences between the lightness/darkness of adjacent pixels than you could before. Your old one was probably not sensitive enough to differentiate as well between similar shades, so you probably just couldn't see a lot of those jags that you're seeing now.
