How are you defining "glitter"? It sounds like maybe your pattern is either too fine or too coarse, so it's not appearing as realistic cloth on the avatar, but there are a million things "glitter" could mean. Care to post a screenshot?

You might want to take a look at the sample Linden jeans to give you an idea of what works, and here is a tutorial I posted a while back for simulating denim in Photoshop. The tutorial is just for making a swatch of fabric, not for an actual garment, but you still might find it helpful.

How do i post a screen shot of it here?
  1. Take a picture by using one of the following methods:
    1. Use the inworld snapshot tool and save the snapshot to disk.

      OR

    2. Copy the screen to clipbord by using the Windows shortcut ctrl-prinstscreen. Then paste the clipboard contents into a new Photoshop document. (Photoshop is just an example, by the way. You can use any image editor you prefer.)

  2. Save the image to an appropriate web format (jpg, png, gif, etc).

  3. Upload the image to a web server. If you don't have your own website, or if you have one but you don't care to use it for this purpose, then any free image hosting service will do. Image Shack is very simple to use.

  4. Copy and paste the url for the image into your post here on the forums.

To make the picture appear directly in your post, so people don't have to click the link in order to see it, simply put the url between bbCode img tags. In other words, put at the end and [img]at the beginning.

And if you're a mac user grab, snapzpro etc. tend to use apple-shift-3 to trigger a screen grab.
