Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help me. I wanna get a Tablet to help me make clothes, but I was wondering which one I should get for a beginner that works with GIMP and is cordless.
Thank you ! ![]() |

Size is really just personal preference. It depends on your drawing style. I'd recommend going with one that's as proportional to your monitor as possible, but even that's not a huge deal since you can always assign part of the tablet to match the monitor proportions exactly, or vise versa.

just for reference, the 6x8 tablet has almost twice as much useable surface area as the 4x5 does.

The size just means you have more area to make broader strokes. If you're more a meticulous person who likes to draw carefully from the wrist as opposed to moving the whole arm, the larger tablets might not do you any good. The larger tablets do have more buttons to play with tho. For Wacoms, the main difference between the Intuos and Graphire models is that the Graphire has half the sensitivity resolution to pressure and also doesn't track pen tilting. The pen tilt thing might not be supported by all software. There is a bluetooth wireless Graphire version. There are other brands around which are as capable, but Wacom has been around a bit longer and has more experience making them. |
