back to my pc..and whenever i do..
using file- save as texture..
the background of the file becomes either white or black..but no longer transparent..
Can anyone help me with this issue?

One Layer One Alpha One Way to Do It ;)

When you open a tga in PS its going to have a single layer with no obvious transparent parts, as you describe- that's normal since tga does not support layers. The transparency is in the alpha channel, so look at that to see where the transparent bits are- the alpha should be intact when you download it back to disc- just not obvious. The previewer in game shows the transparency, other image previewers may have that ability, but I know Photoshop & Paintshop Pro don't... not in the file browsers or when opened initially.

Now- if you want to import *just* the parts of the tga that should dispaly into another image- I can tell you how to do that~~ :D

In Photoshop-- Open the tga and go to Select > Load Selection. 'Alpha 1' should be the only thing in the drop down box there, so let it default & click OK. Copy that & paste it into your other image and you have a new layer with just the bits you wanted. Huzzah.

To do the same thing with Paintshop Pro, its Selections > Load/Save Selection > Load from Alpha Channel & let it default in the window (since you only have one Alpha in a tga file) & click Load. Copy & Paste as above. Huzzah again.

IM me in game if you need more help!
