So I've made my first three pairs of ladies underwear recently and all went well.

I'm working now on a thong type style and i'm noticing now after 7 attempts that on the front the side textures seem to 'bleed' out on each leg a bit. Not noticable if standing in straight, but more so if legs are open or sitting. (ya i know all that sounded kinda gross but not sure how else to word it, lol)

Is that common? I've seen it in another pair of underwear for ladies designed by someone else.

The mapping in the crotch area on the SL Avatar is horrid. When making panties, you basicly have two choices that will never bleed - a one-pixel wide thong, located on EXACTLY the one and only line of pixels that works without bleeding; or boxer shorts. Seriously. Anything between those two extremes WILL have smeared textures inside the crotch. The thong can have a triangular patch that manages to cover the pubic mound, but the area between the legs from there back about 3 inches has to be a string, one pixel wide.
