Hello, I just received an Aiptek Slim Tablet 600U for my birthday, after wanting a decent graphics tablet for ages. After over a year of using a mouse for texturing, I thought using a graphics tablet would really make a great difference. I installed the tablet, and got working on my newest design straight away, and was really pleased with the results. However, when it came to opening Second Life to test out my new creation, the program refused to open and crashed before the log in screen appeared. I uninstalled the tablet and its drivers, and rebooted my system, and Second Life worked again. After going through this process (install drivers, plug tablet in, uninstall drivers, reboot, start Second Life) three times the drivers didn't install properly, although the tablet still worked (and Second Life didn't). I went to uninstall the tablet again, but the system seemed to think that the tablet had already been uninstalled and could not therefore uninstall it again. Eventually I've had to do a system restore to two days ago, but am a bit irritated that it's not possible to use the tablet and Second Life on the same system, as my SL clothing business was the reason I wanted a tablet in the first place. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with Aiptek, or has any suggestions to help? Thanks, Anabella

That's odd. Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. Are you installing drivers from the CD that came with the tablet, or did you download the latest ones from Aiptek's website?
My best suggestion is to return the Aiptek to wherever it came fro, and exchange it for a Wacom. You'll be blown away by how much better the Wacom works than the Aiptek (no exaggeration, you really will be amazed at the difference), and you'll have no more conflicts. Wacom tablets just work, period.
If that's not an option, then keep experimenting with different driver versions. Also, make sure your other device drivers and DirectX are all up to date. You never know where a conflict might have originated.
