It might have been asked somewhere, but I cannot find reference to it:

When opening a Box of Textures (during that 'copy to inventory' phase) -- is there any way to turn OFF that Auto-Preview function so that it doesn't try to open up tons of textures?

Thanks,

I am not sure if you can turn it off. It did not always do that.
I put a 'give script in any box with many textures in it, so that all you do is left click on the rezzed box and it gives you a folder with the textures in it straight to your inventory.

Edit, Preferences, Popups tab - clear the checkbox for "automatically view after accepting".

Be aware this also affects notecards and landmarks given to you, but of course you can always turn it back on after you're done transferring your textures :)

Another related tip - if you are transferring a large number of free textures to a friend or an alt, place them in a folder and give that folder rather than putting them in a prim. This gets around the "million preview windows" issue too.

Thanks - for how to turn it off when I want and for the tip about using a folder to pass things on.
