Hi Foxy!

I'm not sure how far you have gotten, so I will lay out the steps for you and you can pick up where you have left off:

1. Upload the texture as a .tga file while in-world
2. Right click on yourself and select "Appearance"
3. Go to Shirt, create new shirt
4. Click on the texture thumbnail, when the texture/inventory drop down menu comes up, select the shirt that you just uploaded
5. Click on the SAVE AS button and give your shirt a really cool name
6. Click close
-Remember to right click on the shirt in your inventory and set the permissions
7. Now you have a shirt...so take a snapshot of yourself in some really awesome pose wearing your incredible new creation
-You can either save the Snapshot to your hard drive and manipulate it in some graphics program and add some fancy text to it
-or just use the snapshot and upload it in-world
8. Create a box
9. Use the snapshot to texture your box
10. Under the General tab of the Edit menu name the box (preferably after your awesome new shirt)
-To place your shirt inside the box go to the Contents tab and drag it from your inventory into the Content window (you cannot do this while wearing it, so you will either have to take it off or make a copy)
11. Set it for sale
-set the sale price
- you can either sell a Copy of the Box or the Contents of the box, whichever one you're cool with
12. Set the Permissions for the box
13. Set the Right-Click options for the box: Right click to buy, or touch to buy
14. Stand back and wait for your adoring public to rush in and purchase your cool new shirt :)

Best,

Hi Heloq!

That's a script. You'll need to obtain a script for the floating text (can probably find some in the freebie boxes around), and then place it in the box's Contents along with the items you would like to sell.

Edit the script to say whatever it is you want it to say.

Once the script is floating above your box, delete the script from the box. The text will still be there, but then your customers won't have the script cluttering up their inventories.

That is how I originally got that script: it just came with a box of things I bought. Te first time I needed to use it myself, I just did a search on 'floating', and sure enough, there it was, sharing a folder with that dress I had bought back when.

Moral of the story: you probably already have this script from when you bought something in a box with floating text. Just do that search in your inventrory on 'floating' and chances are it will pop up ready to use. Just make sure you open the script and change the text to what you want it to say.

Hovering text
04-25-2007 10:03
hope this helps with explaining hovering text,

rez the object you want to have the hovering text in,
right click and edit
select the more button
and then contents
here you have a new script button press and u should have a script in the contents
open this and paste the script i have included and edit the text as you wish
(to paste the script copy the script as usual then inworld press ctrl and v this will paste the whole script, fyi ctrl and c copies)

then press save and hopefully fingers crossed u can actually understand me u have a floating text, to save it for later use just rename hovering text and drag into you inventory

this is a inworld script and u prolly have one in ya inventory already just search hovering text in your iventory, also the numbers change the colour of text have a fiddle and u can get some funky colours too

// Hovering Text Script
// Written by and Comments by: Malaer Sunchaser
// Very Simple Script that allows you to hover text over an object.
// How The Script Works:
// llSetText() Specifies for the object to create text above it.
//
// Customizing the script:
// Change the text inside of "TEXT GOES HERE" to whatever you please.
// The <1.0,1.0,1.0> is the color the text will show in Float form, 1.0,1.0,1.0
// being WHITE while, 0.0, 0.0, 0.0 is BLACK this is all in RGB (Red, Green, Blue).
// experiement with combinations to get different colors.
// The 1 at the end sets the text's transparency, 1.0 being SOLID, while 0 would be clear,
// and .5 would be half way between clear and solid.

default
{
state_entry()
{
llSetText("hovering text message here ", <3.0,2.0,4.0>, 2);
}
}

Hello Wolfen,

If you sell a copy of the box the customer gets just that....a copy of the box and everything that's in it.

This means they will have to rez it somewhere and then copy the contents into their inventory.

Simply selling the contents means the stuff you've placed into the box goes directly into their inventory in a folder named whatever you have named the box (Cool Tshirt..yada yada).

Best,
~Ari
