I've only been experimenting with textures and building for a few weeks now, and I'm wondering how I can make parts of a prim transparent yet have opaque parts as well. I bought a 1 prim picture of a polar bear where the bear is opaque but everything around the bear is transparent. I've made a privacy screen that is opaque on one side but transparent on the other, but I'm not sure how to do partial transparencies.

Can someone post a link to a good tutorial where I can learn how to do this, or send me in the right direction for info?

Read the sticky on Transparency and Alpha Textures at the top of this forum. That's what it's all about.

I've done that and it's not very clear. Too technical. I got lost.

For some reason, when I first looked at the sticky a few days ago, only half had downloaded on my computer. When I looked again, it had downloaded completely. Weird.

That is weird. Glad it's working now, though.

If you have any questions after reading the sticky, by all means post them. :)
