Hi, I have asort of noobish question, I was trying to make a window, and used an alpha for the frame...I tried setting curtains in front of the window, and for some odd reason the window shows in front of the curtain prim even though the curtain sits a good 1 foot in front of the window almost.
is there a work around for this?

This is known as the alpha sorting glitch and there is no way to fix it. When there are two transparent textures, one in front of the other, there is no way for the system to know what is supposed to be displayed in front. If you didn't think your curtain had an alpha, check to make sure it is a 24 bit file and not a 32 bit file, as 32 bit files are treated as transparency textures.

there is something that can make this work sometimes and thats by texturing the prim via script, if you can do this with both prims and each prim just as the scripted texture, 9 times out of 10 you don't see the alpha sorting problem. however, there is always the possibility that I've been lucky.

is there a work around for this? The most cost effective way and less stress on CPU is to add the curtains along with frame and wall.....now if you really want curtains to close then you add a texture switcher to the wall prim. That way when users click a remote switch the opened curtains texture is swtiched to the closed curtains.
