Is it possible to make parts of body invisible?

Like the subject says, I'm looking for a way to make part or all of my body invisible. (My problem is that I don't want to have to worry about say, my arms sticking out through the prims that I've used to create my 'new' arms with, for example. It's a huge pain)

(I tried to search for a similar topic first, but no luck)

Thanks in advance!

The best way I've seen people do this is to use an animation that curls them up in a ball so their arms or legs won't stick out.
Otherwise, no, you can't eliminate parts of the basic avatar model.

alright, since you said youve created "new arms"... Im assuming youre making some sort of prim addition to your avatar... cybernetic arms/legs, animal arms/legs... whatever. Ive made a lot of very prim intensive avatars and making yourself invisible really isnt the best way to go about this (if I assume correctly).

if youre just looking to make a single arm or whatever "dissapear" i.e., just a stub... you want a custom animation (which I would be happy to do for you)

if you want the prims to move along with your arm, AND be able to see the prims... (i.e. cybernetics or what have you) youll need to edit your avatar so that the limbs are small and thin enough to fit inside the prims and then carefully place them, I have an animation to "freeze" your avatar in place so you can work around your limbs without moving... very helpful.

If you send me an IM in world I would be more then happy to help you out.

hey Spider could you shoot me a copy of that "freeze" animation too? It drives me nuts trying to design stuff around an avatar that's always "blowing in the wind" :P

Thanks!
