No-Prim Hair? (sometimes required)

First of all, let me say that I'm totally clueless when it comes to SL avatar hair. Sure, I have the usual third party "prim" hair that most experienced av's get. But understanding how avatar hair works, how to configure it, etc., is something about which I know next-to-nothing.

And of course, the default no-prim hair all av's are born with has always been next to impossible for me to configure into something acceptable using the basic SL appearance tool.

The reason for starting this thread is that there are times when prim hair is not allowed, such as at certain public events. So what does this mean? Does this mean I must either go bald or use the "default" no-prim hair all av's get? Or are there third-party options for no-prim hair?

And as a related question, has anyone assembled no-prim hair configuration settings? That is, just pick a hair style, and then import the settings so as to configure the basic av hair.

Again, it is obvious I am confused, so hopefully others here will help clarify things. Thanks!

I went to a very large SL wedding a month back, and the notecards inserted in the invites asked you to prim down your avs, limit your bling, jewelry, hair, etc

Yes, you can purchase textures and slider settings for no-prim (avatar) hair that look pretty good. Robin Sojurner makes some lovely ones, and also makes some combination styles, like no-prim hair on the head and a prim ponytail that matches it beautifully. I use one of her no-prim styles on my 'low lag Ceera' Human avatar that I wear in the worst-lagged areas that I have to visit.

Well, I visited Robin Sojourner's store, and did not find any "no-prim hair".

In addition, I can't find any "no-prim hair" at SL Exchange (of course, their search engine sucks royally as does the SL client search engine).

So the question of everyone is: where do I find "no-prim hair" styles? (as slider settings and maybe textures.) It seems like a great mystery.

Another one of those "where do I find..." questions for something that should not be difficult to find, but is...

You can find a few varieties of no-prim hair in my store in Freelon, as well as some free no-prim hairstyles in my freebie vendor there.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

There is one called "Pulled Back Hair" that is strictly a texture and shape for Avatar hair. It's the one I use, and has a small hair clip on the back of the head. There's also a couple of long and short hairstyles, and the one that has a prim ponytail. If you find the ponytail style, the no-prim styles are on that same wall. For her hair, if it doesn't say it uses prims, then it is a 'no-prim' style. The last time I was in her store, they were diagonally across the store from where she sells her wonderful denim jeans.
