Texture settings resetting?

I just don't understand what's going on and I'm having a hell of a time. Here's the situation...

I'm working with a 10 x 10 flat surface and have designed a texture specifically to work on that size of surface. In order to get it to come out just right, the texture has to be offset by .996 on both the vertical and the horizontal. Once that's done it looks great. HOWEVER, the fricking settings don't hold! If I go back to it a couple of minutes later it's looking like I never touched it and when I open it up, the offset has reset itself. I can't get the stupid thing to retain the settings.

Has anyone else been having troubles with this? Is this a bug or am I just doing something wrong?

As a side note, I've also had the same troubles with transparency settings on an unrelated piece. Fortunately, I finally got those to hold.

Try duplicating the prim. That usually clears up most strange behavior.

That having been said, there are some numbers that just never work (and they vary from version to version). Could be .996 is one of them. Perhaps you should resize your texture on the cavas so a different number is appropriate. Generally, the less decimal places are involved, the greater the chance for success.

Oh, and if you're using planar mapping, the allowed numbers for repeat and offset are VERY restricted. Triple digit decimals almost never hold.

Good grief! <chuckle> Thanks for the info! I'll give that a try tonight and keep my fingers crossed. :)
