I'm not logged in right now, but you know, I don't think our avatars have toes. You'd have to paint them into the skin layer, toenail paint and all together.
Either Chip's or Robin's templates come highly recommended (some people use both for different tasks); there are sticky threads pointing to the templates at the top of the forums. (Not that those templates include toes any more than the 'official' ones.)

If you have a good skin, your avatar has (painted) toes.
So you must make the painted toenails on the socks you are going to make match to the painted toes on your skin. It is very likely the toes have not been painted on in the exact same location on different skins, so your nail polish may not be suitable for every skin.
But it is certainly worth the try.

White is right. Toenails and the shape and position of the toes from skin to skin will differ greatly. That said, you may want to contact the designer of your skin (unless you are creating your own) to find out if they have toenail options as sock layers. If you need a template to work with, the default skin actually has toenails on the color layer. They are very transparent, and not very visible or nice looking. Here is an enhanced and flattened image of the default lowerbody_color.tga file found in the client character folder. This should make the features more defined and readable for anyone wanting to map toes and nails to the default skin location.

Incidentally, Namssor's gloves and socks for adding nail polish to his SS Labs skins absolutely ROCK. Wonderful selection of colors, and they look great.

what I would do is use the default color skin file found in the client folder, and overlay it over the template (which ever you use) and resize it to match (0f course) then I would paint on a new layer over the toenails, keep in mind though this may not match the skin you use.
good luck
