hi...i'm pretty new to SL.....just had my first go at making some shoes from prims and having a bit of trouble with them.
i'll make them just fine then take a copy to my inventory, when i go to attach them to either foot they'll be at right angles. of course i'm not expecting them to know whci hway round they go on so i'll rotate them into place. then when i remove them and reattach they'll be back at a weird angle.
can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong!?

Hi Bez, welcome to the fora!
That sounds like one of two things: Either it's a bug, or you're attaching a right shoe to the left foot and vice versa.
The process you've described sounds just right for making shoes. If you check the second isn't the case and the problem persists I'd contact Live Help who might have someone that can come and see you in world to help (you could ask for a mentor through Live Help as well) and if they can't sort it out, bug report it from the Help menu.

It might also be how you're standing when you attach them, and that you've shifted when you wear them again. Make sure you're on a posing stand when you fit them first - you 'freeze' when you edit attachments, but the position you're in might be misleading.

ok thanks for the replies....had a go with a new pair of shoes earlier....
stood on a posing stand and built the shoes around my feet, took a copy of them then selected "wear" and they were pointing toe down rather than the normal way one would wear shoes...and facing random angles too.
i've re-fitted them now whilst Attached to my feet - haven't tried removing and rewearing yet, but if they end up not right again i guess i'll have to report it.

ok....tried removing the shoes and rewearing and they fit fine!
however....tried giving them to a friend and while they went on the right way round, his feet were sticking thru them, even when he shrunk them down to minimum size. does it sound like i need to make my shows a little larger? or should i get one of these invisi prim things? btw these aren't heeled shoes they're just sneakers / trainers whatever you call them.

SL shoes have a "size", just like RL ones (you'll see the shoe advertisers say "fits size 0", or "size 20" or whatever often enough).
But... wearing non-prim shoes actually alters the shape of your feet. Hence, most people make a "0 for everything" shoe (there are other options depending on your anims etc.) that they distribute with the shoe prims. It sounds to me like your friend put the prims on, but still had a shoe form on, or you built around a shoe form you were inadvertently wearing.
Best bet, make sure you've got no shoes on. Check your prim shoes fit. Then make a new pair of SL-clothing type shoes, make sure the numbers make your prim shoes fit your feet nicely. You can probably make them small enough nothing shows, or, alternatively make the shoes from a totally clear texture so they don't show. Distribute the prims with the clothing shoe so they fit when you wear all three bits together.
I've never really tried shoe making, but I'm 90% sure that invisiprims are used to block out bits of the av's stretched feet (but the shoe shape) in heels and things like that. Since you're making a flat shoe you shouldn't need them.
