I constructed a shape in Rokuro and exported it as tga first (for the sculpted prim) and as an .obj file next (so I could import it in ZBrush for texturing). Sadly, the obj does not appear to contain a UV map, so texturing is a no go.
I've reconstructed a UV map in AC3D, but that would mean exporting a new sculpty from that object. I don't want that because I'd like to keep the perfect sculptie that rokuro produced in the first place.
Am I missing something here or...

I too use Rokuro Pro to make vases and I use Photoshop to make my textures for them. While in Rokuro, I cover my urn with a mesh texture supplied by Chosen Few. I can send you a copy in world if you wish. I then open Photoshop and place the mesh in a layer, then I create my texture, looking back into Rokuro to see which number band is at which place on my Rokuro urn.

Thanks for replying Ethan, but that's not what I was looking for. I can use Photoshop to paint a texture -- but what I want to do in this case is to apply a material and lighting in ZBrush, and then bake that to a texture. For that, I need an .obj file (with a UV-map) to start with. When I export an .obj from Rokuro, the UV map is missing.

I've never used Rokuro, but it sounds like it's not including UV data with OBJ export. Are there any settings or options for export? Some programs allow you the option to include or exclude all kinds of properties with OBJ's. Others are limited to just the vertex and face information. If Rokuro is in the latter category, then you'll need to assign UV's in another program.
The good news is that sculpty UV's are as simple as could be. The map you need is nothing but a simple grid.

There are no export options for .obj in Rokuro. Believe me, if there were, I would have found them.

What you are doing is beyond my capabilities, but perhaps this tutorial will be of some help. http://www.mermaiddiaries.com/2007_06_01_archive.html

this might be the long way around, but if you've already created a duplicate you can import into zbrush, why not use that one to bake the textures, but use the rokuro one to import inworld. the difference between the 2 should be minimal, or at least easily fixable using inworld texture tools

The UV-maps are completely different, that was the whole problem in the first place...
