I created a top & made pants to go under a dress. I used the same color & filter texture created in photoshop on both. I noticed that the pants in SL seems to look darker then the top. Why is this? & how do it fix it. I used super blade pro as the filter in photoshop. thanks

It's a pain!

Carrie - sorry I can't give you a definitive answer to this question but as no-one more knowledgable is stepping in... yet. :o)

It's a pain isn't it, as well as the lower part being slightly darker, try putting a pattern on - its about (but not exactly) twice the size on the lower part. Perhaps someone knows the exact ratio? If not I will work it out when I have time.

Like yourself, I would love to know how some other designers/clothing creators get around these 'problems'. Hopefully one will jump in...

I think I understand what you are trying to work out, but with such a brief description, it's hard to be sure.

Are you concerned with the waist seam?

Is the pattern between the top and pants aligned?

Are you using a client side previewer like SLCP?

Are you looking at the issue inside the SL render engine?

What light conditions are you viewing the problem in (if in SL)?

Have you tried a flat color (no pattern or alpha channel, if any) on both top and pants to isolate the issue?

Is this the infamous waist seam bleed avatar texture baking issue that has plagued clothing textures (other than the jacket) that cross the waist?

Sorry, at this point I have more questions than answers. I need more to go on. Your issue could be caused by several things like alignment, lighting, polygon angle, or color shift. Some of those issues are not fixable, and some are. Post an image if you think that will help.
