I discovered a texture that was on my friend's building, that from the outside, looked like brick, but from the inside of the building, it was transparent, like a window.
She took this off a freebie house and used it on her own building, but I personally would love to know how to create this effect using my own textures.. for example, on the outside wall is brick, or wooden, but the inside has wallpaper. This would be much easier than using two prims to create the effect.
Does anyone know how to create this?
Thanks in advance!

hey, I did this by accident the other day just drag the see-through window texture from your inventory onto one side of the prim you want to use, and it'll only apply to that side. works with any texture too I would expect (not sure that's the easiest way to do it, but it is one way.)

Easiest but not the safest Its way too easy to retexture something you didn't want to, and bad news if it happens to something you purchased and don't have all the textures for.
Safest way is to select the item and then select the "select texture" button, and then click on the face of the object you want to retexture. Then you'll be able to choose a texture to repaint it with as per normal. You'll know you're in the right mode when there's a whitish oval covering the face of the prim.
For the see-through, that's a standard alpha texture. You should be able to get a freebie from someone if you find the right group (a newbie or building group probably) to join and start asking - or ask me in-world.

Transparency in SL is diff from real life. In RL, if one side of a box is transparent, then you see the inside of the box.
In SL, ir one side is transparent, then any part of that box that you would see through the transparent part disappears.
Make a big box, put transparency on one side, and rotate it around to see how this works...
