Ok I was doing some interior decorating on a house the other day and I was having a helluva time getting the textures to work right. I would change one side of the wall and the other would change too, although it had a totally different texture.

So I started playing with everything and finally got it to work but I would really like to know if anyone knows of a guide to the different fields or whatever for the textures?

thanks :)

While you are in edit mode, click on "Select Texture" and then click on the 'face' of the prim you want to change and then when you make your change it will only affect that one you had selected.

This also works on multiple 'faces'. Click on the first one you want to change then hold down your shift key and click as many faces you want to change.

When you change the repeat of only one face of a prim (one side is 1x1 and an other is 2x1) when you next go to that prim you will see the repeat fields grayed out, no worries, you can still change all the sides by over riding those numbers. Just remember that when you have the whole prim selected you will change the whole thing. "Select Texture" is you best friend when you’re only decorating the interior or exterior of a build.
