Hi all ... i was wondering if someone could help me out ...

I would like to try and make some accessories (belt, bracelet etc) but i don't know how you make them iw to add them as objects.

Is there a tutorial or would someone be willing to give me some one on one tuition?

Thanks :)

The very basics:
  1. Build the object in-world, link the prims together
  2. Take into your inventory
  3. Attach it to any body part
  4. Move it (position, stretch, rotate) into position
  5. Detach, repeat until you're happy.

There are building classes from time to time which is what you will need.

You also have the option of doing texture-based accessories, meaning they're "painted" on and flat, but this may work in many cases. In this instance you will upload textures and apply them to clothing items.

IM me in world if you need building help.

Figure out which prim you want to use to store the items in the gift box. It doesn't really matter, as long as you remember. Edit another prim, then shift-click on the prim you want to be primary (or "root" as it's usually called). You can select more than two, but the root prim is last. Then select Link Objects from the Tools menu.

The two or more prims will function as one, but each prim can store items, so be careful when you drag and drop inventory items into your multi-prim object. It's usually more reliable to edit the object, open the Contents tab, and drag into it.

Same with linking a roof to a house, but there are distance limits. I think the root prims have to be 30m or less away from each other. Clarification?

Another tip, the root prim is the one whose measurements show up when you rotate/move an object. So it's usually best to use one with a relatively flat rotation to make it easier to line up wtih other objects.
