Different texture for each arm on an avatar

Ofen clothes have different patterns on each arm. On the SL template you have only one arm. Is it possible to make different clothes textures for each arm of an avatar, and if yes, how ? It's not for me but for a friend who doesn't speak english and I try to explain what she wants, so sorry if I'm not clear enough :-)

Thank you

The only way I can think of is with prim clothing, rather than clothing that is painted directly on the avatar.

Unfortunately, Rolig is correct. There's no way to have the two arms be different with regular clothing. Thank whatever jackass UV-mapped the avatar when it was first created.

The only way to do what your friend is asking for is to fake it with prim clothing. Attach some cylinders to one arm (or both), and texture the cylinders however you need them to look. It can be tricky to get the prims to match the shape of the arm well, but if you're patient, you can make it work.

Another way that might work is combining two pieces of clothing with only one arm each and put one of them on the shirt layer and the other on the jacket layer.

Dylan, that won't exactly work either. The transparent parts are mirrored on the arms as well as the colours. That is, you can't have a jacket layer with only one arm transparent.

Thank you for this thread! I went round and round with a person in a group IM the other day...she swore she had some older templates that allowed her to make different templates for each arm, and this, she said, made it possible for her to make "off the shouder shirts" with one long sleeve and no sleeve on the other arm. She didnt know who Chip Midnight was, so I'm thinking she didnt know what she was talking about :)

Thanks for posting this

She most definitely did not know what she was talking about. With the exception of a little revamping of the crotch area about four years ago, the avatar UV mapping has not changed since it was first created. There has ALWAYS been just one arm on the template.
