Hello all, sorry if this is a very amatuer question, but you know the templates we download, if u paint/draw over the outline, of say the shirt front or back, does that affect the outcome? or is it only what u paint within the lines that ends up on your avatar?
thank you, lol.
hope this question makes sense (NOTHING makes sense to me at this moment in time) haha.

It is important to include some bleed of the texture at the seams since the avatar will be distorting and interpolating the pixels in that region. The default templates have a layer in them that represents a good bleed area over the seams.

Painting outside the lines is absolutely what you want to do. Only what's inside the lines will show on the avatar, but by making sure to "bleed" your work over the lines you're ensuring that you won't have any gaps in your imagery.
Think of it kind of like painting a house or a car in RL. You tape the windows, so you won't get paint on them, and then you always make sure to paint right over the tape. That way you always get crisp, clean edges, exactly where you want them when the tape comes off. Were you to try to just paint to the border and no further, you'd almost always have sloppy edges.
