Hi guys....anyone able to let me know if Photoshop Elements will do enough to make clothing viable? I have PSP......and am loath to spend the full amount for PS itself.......but as most tutorials are for PS, I'm wondering if PS Elements has enough of what I would need? Opinions? Thanks in advance...x

When I first joined, I used Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 to make my first shirt. It can do most of what the regular Photoshop CS can do, but it lacks: - Actions Palette for recording and playing actions
- Vector Layer Masks
- The all-important "Liquify" filter. It is used for making wrinkles, distortions, ect. Maybe you could get by without it.
- Channels Palette. Might make Alpha textures a little tricky.
- Fullscreen and hide desktop view modes
- Many of the tools in Elements are less complex than their counterparts in Photoshop CS. For example, the Levels command is simplified in Elements.
- A number of other minor changes and features
Those were the features that I could think of in 5 minutes of the top of my head with both programs open. Would anyone else care to chime in or critique this list?

Try Gimp First

Try Gimp first. It's free, easy to use, and is significantly better than PSP. It also supports alpha layers in targa files (unlike the new version of photoshop).

Yeah. The GIMP is a really good alternative to Photoshop. Ulrika, what do you mean, tha† Photoshop doesn't support alpha in TGA? Photoshop 7.0 had some problems with Targa and alpha channels, but that was fixed in the 7.01 update. CS handles it no problem for me
