I am trying to make some rope for a lasso. Both to hang from a belt, and then later to script. I'm having a horrible time with it though. I thought I could just do a few loops, and then texture them. But I can't get the loops right, and I can't do a texture that look good. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Lauren Fox (lfox) has good rope textures, for both straight segments and coils, in several types of rope. They work fine on simple cylinders, but if you also twist the prim in the same direction as the strands in the rope, you get a very convincing effect. .

Thank you Nika. Actually I had bought her textures. But couldn't get it to look right. I figured it out by trial and error tonight, and am the proud owner of a new lariat to dangle from my belt.
