all they say is rebake. which doesn't always help... forget RC.. use another viewer.

yes, well, trying to rebake/edit appearance is supposed to help but never does with the 'missing skirt' problem. I can assure u SL is eating up also skirts with non-trasparent parts, and that's probably just a bug that will hopefully be fixed with next viewer... Anyways, I had it happening like 4 times, and 2 times the person managed to get the skirt back by teleporting (as if it was that very server to cause the problem). Now it's passed a few days since you posted this, but I wanted to say about the 'teleport' idea cause it's the only thing that ever managed to fix the problem when it happened with my own skirts (ie: resending it to the person, relogging, rebaking... NOTHING else made any difference :-/ ), so might be useful to someone else, if they get the same problem

Rebaking sometimes helps, but sometimes you need to do it mulitple times to see the benefit last.

I have had this problem reported by some of my customers. The only way I have been able to fix it is to reupload the skirt texture and make another one. THis has occured on 2 of the last 3 sales , Any one found the Jira thingy yet? Im sure Im not a matyr in this issue.

Someone recently posted the preliminary release notes for the R7 Release Candidate (still not available to most of us), and the fix for the skirts disappearing bug is one of the fixes in that release.

I too have had this problem :0(
Rebake? No go.. Remake?? Temp fix only ... Relog?? Only if you do it a million times!!! GRRRRRRR Teleport??? HA HA
The only thing i have found to work is to clear the cache and cookies in the viewer.. The skirkt comes back and stays there..
Hope this helps..

Supposedly but it didn't work for me yesterday until I'd done a couple of rebakes. Although I can tolerate a couple of rebakes compoared to nothing at all although i'm still dubious as to what other people see me wearing?

Try making sure that "basic shaders" is checked in graphics tab.
edit/preferences/graphics/basic shaders
This fix worked for me 100%
This was driving me insane, if anyone is still having this problem try this

Oh, I was going crazy because I couldn't wear my skirts for the longest time. The fix that worked for me was posted on the jira by Zen Linden. Before putting a skirt layer on, remove all HUD attachments, put on the skirt, wait for it to bake and then reattach your HUDs. It's a pain but it works for me. I had one skirt that persisted in turning transparent even with the HUDs removed, but it came back if I went into Appearance mode and counted to 10 before exiting. At least they know what's causing it, and it should be fixed in the next viewer release. The jira entry is here: http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-2778
