After reading through all the tutorials and all the posts on how to make lacey clothes, I tried it and did everything (well obviously I did something wrong) according to the information I had. When I previewed the image on a female avatar using the upload preview tool, it looked fine but that was because the preview avatar is black... making it not such a good preview at all. The other thing I noticed after I got it on my avatar was that it didn't curve around the same as it did in the preview. I've taken a screenshot from the game so you can see it. Also I have uploaded the original .PSD file as well so that people can look at what I did wrong in Photoshop and fix it for me and tell me how they fixed it etc

Starting out at all this is kind of difficult with the low amount of cash I have, so uploading images that don't work (but work in the preview) is very costly for me.

your alpha channel is not renamed "alpha Channel" so that when saving in 32 bit TGA format it is recognised by SL.

u have it named "pattern fill 1 mask" and a solid white "Alpha 1"

your pattern fill mask also is a sold white pattern around the lacey fabric sections

I find a simple pattern like this is better designed in shades of gray on the alpha mask with a solid colored texture..this avoids the white halo effect.

I made a simple change to your alpha channel

take a look how that works and keep experimenting

doh file doesnt attach LOL..sorry

Alpha channel needs to be in 'channels', not in layers
I moved the alpha layer to the alpha channel.
Save as 32bit tga (including alpha channel), and upload.

You can check if your upload worked before paying for it during the preview. Just select the right preview mode. Correctly alpha'd and none alpha'd should look differently, although it's tough to see. (gray colouring)

Ok great, I got it to work now. Yes you're right, I was using layers rather than channels, this is the bit that had me confused in all the tutorials. I've successfully created another one from scratch and it works as well so now all I have to do is work on the front-side bleeding of the texture.

Thanx again.
