In game classes?

I've searched both google and in game but I'm coming up short so I'm hoping you guys could help me out. I'm looking for in-game live education/classes on creating clothing. I have found one from Soma which is exactly what I'm after, but I'd like some cheaper alternatives (Soma is charging $1500L for a class). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I actually offer weekly free photoshop classes for clothes design.

Best you join the LMC Content Creation Group for notices when the classes take place There's also several self paced tutorials available in my store (none more than 10L) ... its in my pics.

Have you tried using Search >> Events >> Educational ? There are usually several classes a week on making clothes. NCI offers many of them. Try going directly to their sim (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Fishermans%20Cove/61/195/25) and looking on the class schedule board.

You do realize $L1500 is the equivalent of less than $6, right? Don't take this the wrong way, but exactly how little do you feel an instructor's time should be worth?

I know it's not a live class, but check the Texture Library (?) on Livingtree. (Also it may be that Robin Wood does actual classes.) When I was there the other day picking up a different book I believe I saw one on making clothing.

Oh, and Chosen is right. We tend to get a warped view of the SL economy when we start seeing so many digits in a price or fee. Once I started comparing my expenditures here to, say, a double latte, I learned to be more free with my Lindens. The enjoyment is comparable.

Thanks for the recommendations guys! I visited Livingtree and attended the LMC class (which was great), and am waiting to catch one of the NCI clothing classes. If anyone else knows of some other classes please lemme know, I'd like to experience them all.

As for the money issue, of course I feel all of these instructors deserve to be paid well for what they are doing, but on the other hand, If I choose to search out free or cheap classes that is my choice and I should not be hounded for doing so. If you guys would like to start a discussion about what education is worth, please take it to another thread.

US$5.76 doesn't seem too much to pay for a class, if the quality of the instruction is good. Single session RL classes in making clothes cost ten times as much.

Sure, it's SL, not RL, but the person giving the class has to spend as much time preparing for it and giving the class whether they're sitting in a bingo hall or a SL simulator.
