Not that I'm aware of, but skins are made the same way clothing is. Use the three templates and paint a texture for each. Mostly it comes down to being able to paint good skin in your paint program of choice. I know there's a ton of tutorials out there for painting skin in Photoshop, but not specifically for SL.

Could you maybe link some sites?

For SL related tutorials check the sticky thread of links at the top of this forum. For tutorials on painting techniques, google will get you a plethora.

If you have a avatar's skin that you like but the face makeup isnt dramatic enough and the entire face skin is already painted, its not just makeup tatoo on the eyes and mouth that can be changed to something new,is there any way to add some makeup onto the painted face skin already there? And can you mix and match different skins that you like parts of into one new one?

Usually most skin makers will have a base skin without makeup that they create additional makeup versions from. Your best bet is to check with the person who made your skin and see if they can put a different makeup tattoo on it for you or if they have other versions that might suit you better. Currently there's no way to interchange parts on a skin since the skin textures already take up the three available texture slots. The only way to be able to apply tattoos to a skin is to use the default Linden skin or have your skin maker do it for you.

At some point we're supposed to get additional texture layers at which point most skins will probably start being sold with makeup that gets applied to a different layer rather than being part of the base layer. Then you can use your own makeup tattoos or ones from any other source. Unfortunately we don't have that feature yet. Feel free to mention it to your neighborhoold Linden, often, while poking them with a stick.

skin

I have tried to apply the original skin to my av and it has been unsuccessful. I want to start over with the shape, color and everything. I am just not happy with what I have. Looks good, but it still has some defaults from other av characteristics that I got attached by mistake.

So, does somebody have an unedited version of the female shape, skin and eyes that they can send to me? I would appreciated it!

Right click in any folder in your inventory and select "new/body part/skin" and do the same for shape. That will give you a brand new skin and shape set to the defaults that you can then edit to your tastes. Once you have them set up the way you like, save them under a new name like "Ghyngi's default shape." That way you can easily revert back to it at any time. With skins and shapes, the only way to take a particular one off is to put on another. Often people will forget to save their default skin and shape and then lose their settings when they try a demo skin or wear a different shape.
