Basic skin templates?

I was wanting to work with making tattoos. Obviously most skins (specially drow, dark elf, ad goth types) use the tattoo layer. is there templates with the skintones so all you need to do is add the tattoos? I know i can use clothing and prims but I already know of a few I'd like to add otherwise as well to the skin layer.

Your best bet is to grab Chips templates here:

They don't provide skintones, but if you are using default skin (sliders) on your AV you won't need it.

The templates show what part of the image is used to cover what parts of the AV.'

Draw your tatoo and scale/rotate/place it where you want in it's own layer.

turn off all the other layers that come in the template. Create an alfa layer so only the tatoo will be visible.

Save the tatoo as a .tga file and upload it. If the alfa and layering is correct, you should see only the tatoo and grey/white checkerboard behind it in the upload preview screen.

In appearances, simply put the tatoo texture you have created in the appropriate texture box on the left in the skin color section.

If you are using a custom skin you will need to contact the maker of that skin and see if they will add your custom tatoo to their skin for you once you get it looking just the way you want.

Many sellers are happy to do this for a small fee if you already own the skin (at a minimum, the cost of re-uploading the modified skin for you).

if the tatoo is not on the head, you can also make a tshirt or underware out of the tatoo texture as well. This gets around the issue of having to merge it with a custom skin (provided you go 'commando' )
