I hate to sound stupid, but I cant find the answer to this. If I want to apply a texture to one side of a prim, like the face of a cube, but another texture to any of the other sides, ho is it done?
I've played and played but when I put a texture and/or color it goes all over the prim. I kno there has to be a way because the outside of a house doesn't always look like the inside. :-)
Please help.
Thanks

When you are editing the prim, look at the radio buttons on the upper left side and check "Select Texture". You should see a white target on all sides of the prim. Click on one side, and the target should be only on the one side. You can then adjust the texture for just that side.

At the top of the edit dialogue box is a checkbox for "select texture." With that checked you can select a single surface and change its texture independant from the rest of the object :)

You can also open your texture inventory while editing the object and just 'drag' the texture with your mouse to the side of the object you want to texture.

I have noticed that the texture drag method doesn't work for tube prims. What's up with that?

Tetures and Tube Prims

I was able to drag texture onto a tube prim... maybe it was because of how I had shaped it but the thing I noticed is, with the tube prim, if you drag to the section of the tube you clicked on to highlight... it canges the whole thing. But if you drag to any other section it only affects that section. For instance i was able to make the inside of the tube a different texture from the outside of it. I hope this helps. :)
